Ely Stage Stop Museum plans 2025 Popcorn Lecture Series

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. — Learn about Lake County’s past while munching on popcorn in the Ely Museum’s Red Barn during the 2025 Popcorn Lecture Series.
Lectures are every other month on the second Saturday. Talks begin at 2 p.m.
Lectures are free to Historical Society members or $10 at the door for non-members. Join as a member at the door and get into all six 2025 lectures free.
The first talk on Jan. 11, “Lake County’s Mineral Springs,” will be presented by author and historian Katy Tahja.
Springs discussed may include: Adams, Allen, Anderson, Bartlett, Bonanza, Castle, Complexion, Crabtree, Epsom Salts, Harbin, Hensley, Highland, Hough, Howard, Paramore, Saratoga, Siegler, Spires, Summit, Twin, Wilbur, Witter, the Geysers and ZemZem,
The 2025 Schedule includes:
• March 8: The Saga of Captain Floyd: How a Confederate naval hero changed Lake County and beyond.
• May 10: 20,000 Years of Cultural Change and Stability in Lake County.
• July 12: The Murder of Sgt. Richard Helbush
• Sept. 13: A Walk Through Time
• Nov. 8: The Gopcevik Decree.
