LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Stacie Lynn Rose rode off into the sunset on Nov. 4, 2024, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, resilience and unforgettable memories.

Born on April 16, 1965, Stacie was a firecracker with a heart full of love — especially for her son, Ryan, whom she often called her greatest gift. Their unbreakable bond brought her immense pride, and she never missed a chance to let everyone know how much he amazed her.

Stacie’s loyal sidekick, her dog Macy, was by her side through thick and thin, providing comfort and companionship with unmatched devotion (and maybe a treat or two). Whether cruising on her Harley, sewing or hunting for antiques, Stacie’s zest for life made her unforgettable. Even after a stroke 12 years ago, she didn’t miss a beat and kept her love for beading, sewing and creating alive.

Stacie leaves behind her beloved family: her son, Ryan Strugnell, daughter-in-law, Amanda, and grandkids, Gavin, Bella and Calder; father, Gary Rose; siblings, Dedie Quigley (Mike), Christy Galloway (Roy), Brian Rose (Anastasio) and Tony Rose (Julie); nephews, David Quigley (Lindsey) and Collin Galloway; nieces, Stephanie Quigley (Tony), Kiana Dittman, Britney Rose White (Chad) and Morgan Rose (Thomas); and many great nieces and nephews.

She’s now reunited with her son, Devin; husband, Marlin Gallegos; mother, Shirley Conley; brother, Danny Rose; and stepmom, Bethany Rose.

In her unique way, Stacie requested that everyone remember her with laughter, not tears. She didn’t want the same old ceremony; she wanted a celebration filled with stories, laughter and a few wild tales. If you’re attending, bring your best Stacie story and a smile — she’d want it that way.

Graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, at Hartley Cemetery in Lakeport at 1 p.m.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Elisa Perez Jauregui, 67, passed away of cancer on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at Sutter Lakeside Hospital surrounded by family.

Elisa is survived by her husband of more than 49 years, Efren Sr. She is also survived by her four children, Angelica, Efren Jr. (Vivian), Elisa Jr. and Jario; two granddaughters, Harli and Tessa.

Elisa was one of eight siblings, Justino, Consuelo, Maria, Elias, Angel, Alfredo and Agustine.

Elisa was born on July 20, 1957, in La Jabonera, Zacatecas, Mexico. Elisa and Efren Sr. migrated to Lake County in 1976 to give their family a better opportunity for a better life. As much as she loved her home country of Mexico, she loved her adopted country of the United States as much, eventually becoming a citizen. That was one of her proudest achievements.

Elisa worked for Lakeside Hospital later becoming Sutter Lakeside Hospital, for approximately 34 years. She was well respected and known for being a hard and dedicated worker, earning several awards of recognition for her work ethic. Elisa made many friends at Sutter who had become family members. She enjoyed being part of the Sutter retirement breakfast club, in which they gather once a month at Woody’s Café in Kelseyville.

Elisa was a selfless and caring person. She was involved in many charities. She donated to several children with cancer charities and to local charities and homeless shelters as well. She would give what she could to help those in need, often taking her younger son with her to show the importance of giving your time to those who are less fortunate or going through difficult times. She very much enjoyed taking part in the Survivorship Breast Cancer Walk in Lakeport. Until her passing, she always gave back what she could, to family and friends.

Elisa loved living in Lake County and the small town feel of knowing her neighbors and her children’s friends, all attending schools in Lakeport and eventually graduating from Clear Lake High School. She liked going to the local festivals such as the Pear festival, Mexican Independence festival (winning best traditional dress contest last year) and the Lakeport concerts at the park.

Elisa made sure her children were given what they needed to succeed with education, sports, and extracurricular activities. She loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sport functions, school band and chorus recitals, and drama performances. Even recently attending her nieces and nephews’ youth soccer and T-Ball games at Westside Park. She loved baseball with the Oakland A’s being her favorite team, but also rooted for the Giants.

Elisa loved to cook her homemade meals from Mexico with some recipes passed down from her mother. She made the spiciest salsa you have ever eaten. She enjoyed going back to her home country of Mexico and visiting her family and close friends. She would take her children at different times and teach them about Mexican culture. She was very proud of where she was born and raised, always appreciative of her upbringing. She also taught her granddaughter Tessa’s Girl Scout Troop No. 10917 about Mexican culture and how to make homemade tortillas, with each troop member making one of their own.

Elisa was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother and friend. She loved it when family got together for any occasion, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was a great self-imposed photographer, always taking family group pictures and individual pictures capturing the moments of happiness. She loved and appreciated flowers and being taken out for brunch on Mother’s Day.

We were blessed to have Elisa an extra couple of years because she was always fighting to make sure we were going to take care of each other. Elisa will forever reside in our hearts; we find solace that her spirit lives on with family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary on Friday, Oct. 25, from 3 to 6 p.m., with Rosary at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Lakeport at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Vickie Fahnholz, 98, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024.

She was born of Portuguese immigrants on March 4, 1926, in Redwood City, California.

She graduated Sonoma Valley Union High School in 1944, and married Ernie that same year, winning her over with his teasing nature.

She worked in a prune packing plant and as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant in Napa, before moving to Lakeport in 1960.

She was a familiar face in Thrifty Food Market for years then as Floor Lady at Scott’s Valley Fruit Exchange.

She was active in the Lakeport Fire Department Ladies’ “Fireflies,” organizing the candy sales for scholarships.

She’s been a member of Lake County Bible Fellowship for over 60 years, even singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School.

Vickie is survived by her children, Stan (Sheila) Fahnholz and Linda (Shelby) Dunlap; grandchildren, Shawna Fahnholz, Rich Dunlap, Sean Fahnholz and Ryan Dunlap; five great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and many friends that seemed like family.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Lake County Bible Fellowship, 727 N. Forbes St. in Lakeport with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. There will be light refreshments afterwards, and then internment at Hartley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in Vickie’s memory be made to Hospice of Lake County, 1862 Parallel Dr. Lakeport, CA 95453 or Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma CA 94952.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Larry passed away on Aug. 29, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

He leaves behind his sister, Debra Carrio; sons, Patrick William Mick and Gary Thomas Mick; and daughter, Lisa Rachelle Colridge, as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and longtime friends that he loved.

Larry Lee Mick was born on Dec. 2,1947, in Santa Rosa, California. His parents were William Hadley Mick and Rubye Mae (Henderson) Mick and his sisters are Debra Carrio and Cindy Rose.

Larry graduated from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, California in 1966. Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on April 12,1966, with seven friends. His MOS was an Antitank Assaultman and later a Primary Marksman Instructor at Edson Range at Camp Pendleton California.

He served from 1966 to 1969 in the Marines, and from 1968 to 1969 stationed in Vietnam with Lima Co, 3rd BN, 3rd Marine Regiment. Twice wounded, he was awarded with 2 Purple Heart Medals and the Presidential Unit Citation Medal.

Larry worked for Pacific Gas and Electric Co. for 40 years as a Lineman and as an electric crew foreman, then he enjoyed retirement to the fullest.

Larry was a bit of a dare devil and enjoyed riding motorcycles, fast cars, skydiving, golfing, spending time with family and a good barbecue. At the early age of 8, he began racing quarter midgets, working his way up to full midgets. He also raced dirt bike enduros with plenty of trophies and broken bones! Larry had many friendships and loved to laugh and tell jokes.

He was a proud veteran and served on the Military Funeral Honors Team of Lake County as SGT of the Guard and completed over 1500 funerals for service members. Larry was well known in the Veteran community and was instrumental in establishing the local Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 951 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was the VFW Commander of Post 2015 and was awarded Lake County Veteran of the year. Something he was very proud of.

In loving memory of a life well lived, he will be missed by many. A true character! You have impacted many lives and will remain forever in our hearts. Hope you’re enjoying your wild ride up there!

A celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m., in the Little Red Theater at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Nancy Doris Allen, born on July 13, 1948, in Berkeley, California, passed away peacefully in her home on Sept. 25, 2024.

Nancy means “favor” or “grace,” a virtue coming from God. Nancy was simple elegance.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Virginia Grange; her brother, Ted Grange; her son, Greg Allen; and brother-in-law, Dick Selby.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Jimmie; son, Tim (Jeannette); daughters, Teresa (Brian Wold), Tina (Mike Green) and Cyndi; grandchildren, Stephanie, Nancy, Jaymie, Laura, Melissa, Tyler, Matthew, Emily, Trevor, Megan, Charlene, Danny and Jimmy; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by two sisters, Patsy Selby and Ginny Craven (Ron); nephew, Ted Selby (Jessica); niece, Tricia Gunderson; and great nephews and great nieces as well.

Nancy worked hard to graduate with honors in 1992 from College of the Redwoods Del Norte to become a registered nurse, working at (Sutter) Lakeside Community Hospital in Lakeport, California.

Back in the day, Nancy loved to ride her horse Sassy, bake, garden and camp along a river enjoying God’s beautiful creation.

Nancy was dedicated to her family. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and left a legacy of faith to her loved ones.

She loved to sing and dance and be silly in the moment. When she smiled she did so with her whole face, her eyes sparkling with joy.

Her love and warmth will be greatly missed.

A memorial service in her honor will be held on Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Community Baptist Church in Nice, California. All who wish to pay their respects are welcome to attend.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Emmeline Honey Joy Mitchell, “Ms. Em,” was born in Lakeport, California, on April 17,1956, and passed away on Oct. 13, 2024, at Sutter Regional Center in Santa Rosa, California.

Em was an absolute beautiful full blooded Pomo woman who was strong, funny and amazing to be around. She never cared about any haters, she laughed and got through life no matter what.

She loved to be at old Robinson blasting her music while cooking and dancing. She loved cracking jokes, making everyone laugh.

Em is predeceased by her parents, Dubert and Severine Mitchell; siblings, Cheryl Mitchell, Dennis Mitchell, Sandra Mitchell, Crystal Mitchel and Jonny Mitchell; nephew, Ryan Rave; and her life partner, Don Rouse.

She is survived by her children, Erica Rouse and Robert Rouse; grandsons, Sonny and Jonny Ray; siblings, Lavonna Tapia, Eugene Mitchell and Jackie Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.

Traditional Native American visitation will be held at her home in Lakeport on Friday, Oct. 18, starting at 11 a.m. until Sunday night.

Graveside funeral service will be held at Robinson Rancheria Cemetery on Mockingbird Lane in Upper Lake on Monday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m.
