Louisiana Gomes

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Louisiana Gomes, 90, of Lake County, passed away on Nov. 6, 2016, in Clearlake.

The cremation process was coordinated at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel and was set for Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Celebration of life will be held at San Jose Women’s Club, 75 South 11th St., San Jose, Calif., on Saturday, Dec. 3, from noon to 4 p.m.

Louisiana Ililuokekoa Ku Nahinu Gomes was born in Kauai to John Ku Nahinu Malama and Hannah Keoua Puahi on Sept. 25, 1926.

She enjoyed movies, reading, playing cards and spending time with her family. Hawaiian food, such as fish and poi, were some of Lou’s favorite things to eat.

For many years, she resided in Sunnyvale, Calif., where she was a wife, a mother and a retiree from Hewlett Packard.

Lou is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hannah: husband, George; son, George Jr.; and grandson, Robert.

She is survived by children, Emerald Akana (Wendell), Keith J. Gomes (Glenda), Hannah Dumapit, Ordean Bukoski (Norman) and Albert Gomes (Diane); 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren.
