LAKEPORT, Calif. – Anita McKee, broker/owner of Lakeview Homes and Estates, was presented with the Hazel Pluth Lifetime Achievement Award in real estate by the Lake County Association of Realtors, or LCAOR, at the association's annual installation dinner.
McKee has served as LCAOR president on three different occasions. Serving as president is a volunteer job that requires numerous hours and commitment to the Realtor organization which strives to promote and protect real property rights.
Besides serving as president, McKee has served as the chair of the Legislative Committee and the Local Candidates Recommendation Committee.
In 2014 she participated on the Save the Lake Committee that proposed a half-cent sales tax that would be used to set up programs to improve and protect the condition of Clear Lake.
In 2016 she served as Region 4 Chair at the California Association of Realtors, or CAR. McKee also worked with representatives from the Coastal Mendocino, Marin, North Bay, Northern Solano and Solano Association of Realtors on identifying and resolving real estate related issues that were affecting each of the jurisdictions.
McKee has served as CAR director since 2009 for the Lake County Association of Realtors and participated on a number of statewide committees with a special interest in land use. Currently she is CAR’s key contact for state Sen. Mike McGuire.
Hazel Pluth was a charter member of the Lake County Association of Realtors in 1947, the same year that she started her real estate career.
Throughout her career, which continued into her 80s, she remained active with the association. Pluth served as secretary and as president of the board in 1958.
Originally the award was going to be created exclusively for Pluth, who at the time was the last living charter member of the association, but it was decided that it was an award that should continue on in honor of her dedication and service.
