LAKEPORT, Calif. — Don passed away at home in Lakeport on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, at the age of 92.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 10, at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m., with interment of ashes to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors to commemorate Don’s service in the Korean War.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Ellen Einarsson and Jill Combs; sons, Bob Ore (Julie) and Chris Ore (Kris); grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kevin Patzelt (Jacquie), Jennifer Simning (Bryan), Hunter, Blake and Paige Simning, Mary Crisp (Nick) and Kaylan Crisp, Jeffrey Combs, and Adaleiz and Alexa Ore.

He is predeceased by his son, Mark Einarsson; grandson, Gary Patzelt; siblings, Arthur, Melvin and Lorraine; and parents, Mundy and Audrey Einarsson.

Don retired from the California Highway Patrol and kept his CHP pride strong.

He loved golf and played for the SIRS for 32 years. Don served his community as a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and as a member of the Lions Club.

We will remember Don as a big kid who made life fun and exciting and joyous.

The family welcomes donations in Don’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
