Mark Baue

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Mark “Markus” Greer Baue of Hidden Valley Lake, California, formerly of St. Charles, Missouri, died in April of 2024 at the age of 65.

Beloved son of the late David C. Baue and Jill Greer Baue. Dear brother of Lisa A. Baue (Monte Crabbs) and D. Paul Baue. Dearest uncle to John Devaney (Emily), Erin Devaney (Omari Bannister), Shyla Baue, Savannah Baue (Billy Hollinger) and Mason Baue. Great uncle of six; dearest cousin, nephew and friend to many.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Mark and Iris Greer, and Arthur C. and Viola Baue.

Mark, a beloved former son of St. Charles, Missouri, is leaving behind a legacy of creativity and independence. Born and raised in St. Charles, he was a cherished member of a family deeply rooted in the community, where he was involved for a time in his family’s funeral business.

Mark’s adventurous spirit led him to California, where he pursued his dream of becoming an actor. Never losing sight of his love for St. Charles, he remained connected with his dedication to co-managing the Facebook page “I grew up in St. Charles and I remember…Past and Present” which has over 13,700 members. As his career in acting was winding down, he additionally found happiness in exploring the scenic beauty of his new home state.

Mark’s artistic journey led him to wedding photography where he captured the joyful moments of countless couples. His passions in life include yoga, cycling on the many trails and mountains in California and surrounding states, riding his motorcycle on long trips and adventures both in the US and Germany, and photographing the stunning landscapes of California along with the many places he traveled to both nationally and internationally.

Living a life of freedom and independence was important to Mark who embraced each day with enthusiasm and a zest for new experiences. His work not only reflected his love for the world around him but also his desire to live on his own terms. Mark’s vibrant spirit and artistic gifts will be remembered by all who knew him. We will miss his unique perspective and joyful presence. We hope you will join us in remembering and celebrating the life of a man who saw the world through a lens of beauty and wonder.

Mark’s memorial life celebration will be on Saturday, June 29, at 3 p.m. at Baue Funeral Home, Cave Springs, 3950 West Clay, St. Charles, MO 63301. Family and Friends visiting time will begin on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central Standard Time. Interment will be private.

The event will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend in person and a recording will be placed on this obituary for future viewing.

Mark’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His warm smile and unwavering passion for life will be dearly missed.

Rosemary Watson

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Rosemary Catherine Watson, affectionately known by all as “Grammie,” passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 19, 2024, at UC Davis Medical Center.

She was born on Oct. 4, 1936, to Edward and Annie Cop, in San Francisco, California, where she grew up.

She met the love of her life, Lee Watson, and they married on Dec. 20, 1952, they were married
for 50 years prior to Lee’s passing.

They moved to Clearlake in 1962 to raise their family in a small town.

Lee and Rosemary had four children: Linda Brooks (Dave), Rich Watson (Karen), Cathy Long (Gary) and Leanne Watson.

They bought and ran Shaw’s Resort for many years. Lee and Rosemary opened Modern Mobile homes and then Modern RV. This business continued in the family for many years.

Rosemary worked for the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for many years. She also worked as a hairdresser at her in-home salon.

She loved traveling with her friends through the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge, where they were avid members. She enjoyed camping until her late 70s.

Grammie loved going on cruises, her favorite being to Hawaii. She also enjoyed visiting with her friends, going to lunch, and having fun at the casino. She was a very fun, loving, and outgoing person.

She will be incredibly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Grammie had seven grandchildren: David Brooks (Stacy), Kim Pesonen (Mike), Rich Watson
(Lorena), Chris Long (Charleen), Melissa Campbell (Ryan), Chelsea Long and Becki Moresi.

Grammie was so proud to have 16 great-grandchildren, who she loved more than anything.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Watson; son Rich and daughter-in-law Karen Watson; and son-in-law Gary Long.

There will be a graveside service Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at the Lower Lake Cemetery.

There will be a reception following the service at Fultz Family Vineyards in Lower Lake; all who wish to attend are welcome to come to the service and reception.

Peter B. Ogo Sr.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Peter B. Ogo Sr. passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2024.

He was the co-founder of Pogo's Pizza Co. and a longtime pillar of the Lake County community.

Pete was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He had a larger-than-life personality, as his family would say he was the man, the myth the legend. Anyone who met him was drawn in by his infectious spirit, love for life and ability to make you feel welcome.

He enjoyed fishing and his RC cars. He was also an avid businessman growing three successful Pogo's Pizza restaurants with his wife and family.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Penny; sons, Joe (Angelina) and Pete Jr. (Angela); nieces, Brandy (Michael) and Letitia; grandchildren, Vanessa, Arianna, Michael, Sammy, Mya, Pete III, Maurice, Isaac, Angelo and Warren; and sisters, Theresa, Rosalie and Barbara.

He is predeceased by his parents, Pedro and Carmen, and brothers, Juan, Antonio, Jose and Tito.

His beautiful life will be forever cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at Grace Church, 6716 Live Oak Drive in Kelseyville, on Tuesday, May 28, at 9 a.m.

John McGann

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — John Anthony McGann of Lakeport, California, died after a brief illness in Santa Rosa, California, on April 25, 2024, aged 73.

Born July 26, 1950 in Brighton, Massachusetts, John was the youngest of six children of Thomas F. McGann and Regina A. Maroney.

He attended St. Agatha’s School in Milton, Massachusetts, through first grade until 1957, when the family moved to Southern California. There, he attended St. Therese School in Alhambra through eighth grade, then went on to Loyola High School in Los Angeles, where he met many of his lifelong friends.

John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in 1972 and went on to earn a MBA from Claremont Graduate University’s Drucker School of Management in 1995.

Always a hard worker, he started his work life while still in high school at Heller’s Bakery, then went on to work for Penneys during college, Merchants, Century Services, Ingram Paper, Kirk Paper, Consolidated Lauco, IPAC and JPP.

John retired in 2018 after 21 years as director of sales for the Americas at Japan Pulp and Paper.

After living much of his life in Southern California, he moved to Lake County in Northern California in 1996, where he and his wife Susan built a lovely home among the rolling hills and oaks. He enjoyed his days there maintaining the land, reading (always learning) and often helping Susan serve customers at The Lake County Wine Studio.

John is survived by his wife, Susan Feiler; daughters, Laura McGann MacLellan (Greg MacLellan) and Erin McGann Maloney (Mike Maloney); brothers, Dr. Peter McGann, Dr. Philip McGann and Tom McGann; as well as seven grandchildren, Courtney, Ethan, Michael, Aidan, Miya, Campbell and Luke; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, as well as his brother Mark McGann and sister Gina McGann.

There will be a private celebration of life in Pasadena, California, in June, as well as a second private celebration in Lakeport in July.

Robert Malley

Robert Charles Malley Sr., age 74, passed away on May 10, 2024, at his home in Carter County, Tennessee.

He was born in San Francisco, California, on April 25, 1950, and attended parochial schools in the city until his family moved to Clearlake Highlands.

In 1968, Bob graduated from Lower Lake High School where he lettered in varsity football and baseball. He was also an active member of the French Club.

Bob often commented that his high school class in San Francisco had more students in it than all of the grades put together at Lower Lake High School. He said it wasn’t initially an easy transition, but he acclimated to the rural lifestyle that he grew to love.

Bob attended Solano Junior College, Yuba College and Santa Rosa Junior College, graduating with an associates degree in law enforcement. He also graduated from the police academy.

Bob held several positions in the Lake County Sheriff’s Office before retiring as a deputy due to a work-related disability. He went on to own a small business, become an assistant manager at Mendo Mill and manage the former water park, Outrageous Waters.

Bob has always believed that his greatest achievement was the years he spent in public service. This includes his time with the sheriff’s office, eight years on the Clearlake City Council with four years as the mayor and his many years representing the city of Clearlake on the Lake County Planning Commission.

Bob was honored to serve the people in his community in a variety of capacities.

In his spare time, he enjoyed his annual golf trip to Laughlin, Nevada, camping, RV travel and watching the Food Network on TV.

At the start of their retirement, Bob and his wife, Debi, enjoyed an epic six-and-a-half-month RV trip to visit friends and family, see the sights and find their retirement home.

Bob was a kind man with an easy smile. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debi Malley; his children, Bob Malley Jr. (Dianna), Gina Malley-Guevarra (Rhoel), Katelynn Meade-Malley and Jeremy Meade-Malley; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Tim Malley (Leslie) and Tom Malley (Susan); and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Thomas C. Malley and Lelia Bouscaren Malley, and his brother, Richard Malley.

There will be a celebration honoring Bob on Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at the Clearlake Senior Center, 3245 Bowers Ave. Feel free to dress in Hawaiian casual, Bob’s favorite attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to any charity that supports law enforcement and/or the families of fallen officers, including the California Peace Officers Memorial Foundation, Children of Fallen Officers or C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors).

Judy Rennacker

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Judy Lynn Halter Rennacker passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home on Jan. 10, 2024, at the age of 62.

Judy was a cosmetologist and loved working with people. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family, friends and "furry companions.” She was an avid supporter of the Stray Cats Program in Lake County.

Her favorite pastime was working in her garden and watching the beautiful sunsets over her hometown in Nice, California. She will be missed by everyone who loved her.

A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, June 8, at Xabatin Community Park, 800 N. Main St. in Lakeport from 1 to 3 p.m.

Please join our family as we celebrate and share together the memories and cherish the moments of the life of Judy. Please bring your memories and stories, a picnic lunch, a lawn chair, a blanket, and your favorite beverage. Judy would love to see you all in cool and cute summer dresses or shorts.
