Leonard spent the first part of his life in Sunnyvale, California raising his family and working for Westinghouse as a renewal parts engineer until his retirement.

He served in the Army and was a Merchant Marine in his younger years and also sold real estate and enjoyed bartendending part time.

In 1993 he moved to Lake County and became a Kelseyville resident with his partner, Lonny Rittler.

Leonard continued bartending in several establishments around the lake until 2020 at age 94.

Leonard passed away peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 10, 2023, and is survived by his daughter, Debra Villegas; son, Leonard Garcia and daughter-in-law, Vicki Garcia; grandsons, Michael and James Villegas; granddaughters, Jessica Garcia and Chelsea Madison; great-grandchildren, Gwen, Marissa, Hayden and Manny; along with several nieces and nephews.

Ernest John "Gordon" Roberts, passed away suddenly on Dec. 14, 2022, in Sutton, Norwich, United Kingdom.

He was born on July 11, 1937 in England.

Gordon was a beloved brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Following the death of his wife in England Gordon moved to California in the 1970s where he developed a passion for American cars and culture.

In 1978 Gordon married Roberta and in 1987 Gordon, Roberta and their two children Walter and Samantha moved to Cobb Mountain.

Gordon was a resident and respected real estate agent in Cobb until 2003 when he and Roberta moved to Kansas to be closer to children and grandchildren.

In 2014 Gordon moved back to the United Kingdom but his love for American cars continued. Gordon was often sighted in his Chrysler 300, a rarity in England.

Gordon is survived by his brother, Ian; son, Walter; daughter, Angie; as well as his grandchildren, Justin, Arriel, Blaise and Haley; and great-grandchildren, Jace and Kai.

LAKEPORT, Calif. — Anna passed away at home in Lakeport at the age of 78.

Anna was full of life and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In her younger years she was a successful manicurist and later became a property manager; her last position was ranch manager which she loved most of all.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Lemoine of Lakeport; son, Brian Moomey of Missouri; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her siblings (in Missouri) Ronald Ford, Kaye Mathis and Judy Brocksmith.

She is preceded in death by her son, Shawn Moomey; brothers, Tom and Edward Ford; and sister, Eula Jones.

Kunigunda ‘Gunda’ Kroh
1937-2023

We are sad to announce the passing of Gunda Kroh.

She passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Aug. 22, 2023, at the age of 85.

Gunda was so full of light and she touched everyone who has ever met her.

She is survived by her daughter, Ange Alvarez; son, Kurt Kroh; grandchildren, Jessice Brown, Jerrica Brockway, Kymberlee Watt, Chelsea Kroh and Dalen Kroh; and great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Drinnon, Kaiana Drinnon and Kaylynn Watt.

Gunda loved going to the beach, yard sales and being around her family.

She will be truly missed.

Evelyn Louise (Thompson) Curtis

Evelyn was born on July 15, 1930, in Great Falls, Montana, to Frank Sterling and Violet Elizabeth Thompson.

The family moved from Great Falls, Montana, to Mariposa, California, in 1947 due to Frank’s severe asthma.

Evelyn graduated from Mariposa High School in 1948 and then attended Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, for two years.

She taught school for one year in Bear Valley (Mariposa County) on an emergency credential until the school closed.

After that, she worked as a draftsman in the engineering department at Castle Air Force Base near Merced, California, until her marriage to Walter E. Curtis in 1954.

They lived in Stockton and then in Sacramento for two years, before moving to Lodi.

In 2004 they moved to Lakeport, California, to be near their daughter Kathy.

Walter was employed by Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) until his retirement in 1987.

Evelyn was active in Bible studies, Women’s Missionary Fellowship and Golden Age Fellowship at Temple Baptist Church in Lodi where she also served as church organist for 34 years.

After moving to Lakeport she was active at Grace Church Kelseyville and also the Lakeport Gideon Camp.

Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, Walter.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Medlin (Paul) of Kelseyville; son David Curtis (Esther) of Turlock and Daniel Curtis (Linda) of Martinez; six grandchildren, Andrew Medlin, Michael Medlin (Stacey), Rachael Avila (Adrian), Kerrie Nichols (Dustin), Rebecca Martin (Dalton) and Christopher Curtis (Beth); and 13 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. at Grace Church, Kelseyville.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Erin was born March 1, 1965, to Margaret and Duane Snider. He passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2023, in Santa Rosa with Laura, Jay and Kim by his side.

Erin was an avid motocross rider until his freak accident in 1991. He maintained a positive attitude throughout the years.

Erin is predeceased by his longterm girlfriend, Debbie Riedmuller Hill. He is survived by four siblings, Jay, Scott, Lauren, and Laura, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 7. Visitation will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary with graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Kelseyville Cemetery.
