LAKE COUNTY – “Make A Splash” is the theme for the Lake County Library’s 2010 Summer Reading Program.

Children from preschool through eighth grade are invited to participate by reading library books and earning prizes in the Summer Reading Program. Sign up at any Lake County Library branch to receive a reading record card and other fun surprises.

Lakeport Library will launch the Summer Reading Program on Saturday, June 12, with a “Super Saturday Sign-up.”

Children who come to Lakeport Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Super Saturday can participate in several craft activities. The library’s address is 1425 N. High Street and the phone number is 707-263-8817.

The Summer Reading Program will end on Aug. 7, when all reading record cards are due. At Lakeport Library frogs splashing across the children’s room windows will mark the progress of the children as they read throughout the summer. Reading awards will be presented at parties in late August.

With a library card, patrons have access to the collections of all three counties, amounting to more than one million books.
