KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – On Sunday, Nov. 22, the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County will celebrate the Thanksgiving season with a service and bread communion entitled, “We Give Thanks.”
The service begins at 11 a.m. at the church, located at 3810 Main St. in Kelseyville. Guests are encouraged to attend.
In the aftermath of the devastating fires, giving thanks is sometimes more difficult.
In this service, several members of the congregation – including some who lost their home – will reflect on what they are thankful for.
Following these reflections, a bread communion ceremony will take place, when bread is shared as a symbol of community and mutual support. Special music will be included in the service.
Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion with Jewish-Christian roots. It has no creed. It affirms the worth of human beings, advocates freedom of belief and the search for advancing truth, and offers a warm, open, supportive community for people who wish to come together in their spiritual journeys.
