LAKEPORT – The public is invited to a special commemoration event on Friday, June 6, in Library Park to remember to the D-Day invasion.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Pearl Harbor Memorial flag mast at Library Park.

This year marks the 64th anniversary of D-Day. The entire landing took place between June 4 and June 14, 1944.

Veteran survivors of the largest invasion in history – the D-Day invasion at Omaha or Utah beaches and support groups afloat or in the air – will be honored.
